Back pain while sitting can have several causes:

  • An improper posture: A lack of seat adjustments (height, depth) can force the body into a strained posture: the muscles are tensed and cannot relax. This is particularly true in cars, where seats are often tilted backward. The knees are positioned above the hips, the spine curves forward, and the intervertebral discs are compressed.
  • Poor habits: Many people tend to slump forward instead of using the backrest of the seat to support the back and relax the muscles.
  • Prolonged posture: Holding the same position for an extended period leads to muscle tension and increases pain.
  • In vehicles, road vibrations and shocks: They reverberate through the body and worsen pain, especially when intervertebral discs are compressed and can no longer cushion shocks and vibrations.
  • One or more medical conditions: Such as sciatica, herniated discs, or vertebral compression. They are exacerbated by above factors.

An ergonomic cushion adapted to your needs helps to relieve back pain. We recommend starting with a seat cushion, which helps with back pain in several ways:

  • Help adopt a dynamic posture: With pelvis slightly higher than the knees to position the back in a natural curve and keep feet flat on the floor.
  • Relieves the coccyx and sacrum: To prevent the pressure exerted on this area from traveling up the spine and aggravating conditions.
  • Distributes pressure points: To avoid concentrating pressure in the same spot and to address tingling and numbness in the buttocks.
  • Absorbs vibrations and shocks in the car.

Using a back support in addition to the seat cushion helps to:

  • Rest and relax the back to relieve muscles.
  • Support the back, thanks to integrated lumbar support.
  • Distribute pressure on the back, using memory foam and High-Viscosity Fluid.
