Repetitive movements, resting on the forearm, and using a joystick or computer mouse are all factors that can lead to wrist pain. Over time, these actions can result in tendinitis or carpal tunnel syndrome.

When it’s not possible to limit movements, using appropriate equipment can help reduce strain on the wrist:

  • Using an armrest support for desk allows to replace the hard surface of the desk with a soft support. It also raises the wrist to the height of the computer mouse, preventing wrist bending that can pinch the carpal tunnel and the nerves passing through it. Using a vertical ergonomic mouse eliminates this bending, maintaining a more neutral position for the wrist and forearm.
  • On heavy equipment, using an armrest helps reduce and prevent pain during joystick manipulation. In addition to providing a soft resting surface, the armrest absorbs vibrations transmitted into the arm.
