Using a lumbar cushion helps to support the lower back, improve comfort while sitting and prevent back pain. Using a lumbar support is particularly recommended for individuals with a pronounced curvature.
Some models such as foam lumbar supports or half moon lumbar cushions have a strict shape that does not move with the curvature of the spine. If the shape or thickness of the lumbar support is not adapted to the user’s morphology, the lumbar support may create strain on the curvature of the spine and cause discomfort.
